The founder

Kjell Johansson has a solid background in the manufacturing industry, the construction and the school environment. In the early 1970s, he trained to become a handicraft teacher at Linköping University and got his first job in Falkenberg. From an early age, he had developed an interest to influence the physical work environment in schools, not least in woodcraft halls. In 1980, Kjell moved to Lidköping and one of the first measures at his job was to install a chip suction in his woodworking hall, which led to a contact with a chip suction supplier that Kjell began to represent in western Sweden.

Gradually, chip suction sales took over and in 1987, a trading company was started with the business idea of improving the air in different work environments. The customer base was now also broadened more and more to industry and the private sector.

Centab is founded

In 1991, Kjell started Centab as a limited company together with a colleague. As a basis, they had some self-developed solutions with e.g. frequency control of the facilities. User-friendly functions and a simpler basic design based on standard components facilitate service and maintenance. At the same time, this has meant that the service life of the central extraction systems has increased considerably at the same time as operating costs have been sharply reduced.

Today

Today, Centab develops, manufactures, sells and installs central extraction systems in the form of chip extractors and central vacuum cleaners. We always aim to be a leader in the segment our company specializes in. Offices with development and production are located in the same premises as the sister company Cenva in Mariestad by Lake Vänern. We also have a smaller production unit in Älmhult in Småland.

Thanks to our extensive experience, Centab also performs service and conversions of most of the central extraction products on the market. We work with quality and suppliers in all parts of our business.

We have also become a significant wholesaler of steel pipe systems for central vacuuming and chip suction systems. As we have developed this program with quality and function at the top of the agenda, we can say without exaggeration that today we have the best system on the market.

The future

We are constantly working on the product development of our chip extractors and now place special focus on the environment and operating economy. We will never be the cheapest to buy, but our goal is to be the best in terms of quality, safety and economy over time and to provide a first-class service.

Our staff and our resellers have extensive experience in work environment improvement solutions. This ensures that Centab will continue to:
